In designing its marble gang-saw models, Gaspari Menotti has studied, identified and adopted the most rational and latest generation solutions to optimize blocks sawing. This study led to the creation of reliable and innovative machines with a mighty structure.
The range includes: 2000 and 2500 versions, each one with blades stroke 80 and 100 cm, with cutting widths of 2 and 2.5 meters. It is a gang-saw with a blade-holding frame that moves at a fixed height while the block is lifted by a platform.

For DGS models the connecting rod is made of a single fusion, with a “I” section structure, in a special high-resistance alloy and particularly designed to endure fatigue phenomena. The single connecting rod solution has proven its worth in terms of both reliability and durability, allowing a flywheel with a larger diameter and greater inertia than competitors’ flywheels to be installed on the machine, which ensures smooth movement and less mechanical stress with consequent lower power consumption.

Axle, supports and flywheel
In order to be able to install a larger flywheel, with an external diameter of 3920 mm, Gaspari Menotti carefully studied and designed a battery axle with large diameter to allow the use of larger-diameter bearings, achieving a double benefit: a lower number of bearing revolutions and therefore a longer service life and greater reliability.
The columns
They are made of steel and give the whole machine conditions of stability and sturdiness unequaled with any other solution. Inside the columns there are the platform lifting screws, protected by a labyrinth carter in stainless steel, which avoids contact with water. Columns conformation do not require the usual filling with concrete.

The blades holding frame and the tensioner
The blade holding frame is entirely made of high-strength steel and its dimensions ensure total stability and resistance to load stresses caused by the tensioning of the blades.

It is done by means of four pairs of sturdy steel racks that, by fitting together firmly, do not allow any movement of the trolley, which could be harmful during the block cutting phases.
Vertical movement of the platform
The slides on the columns are made with special synthetic materials with low coefficient of friction and high wear resistance with easily interchangeable stainless steel guides. The variation in the ascent speed of the platform is managed with 2 brushless motors.
Fixing of connecting rod to the blades-holding frame
In DGS models the connecting rod is attached to the blades-holding frame by means of four high-strength steel studs, which guarantee perfect coupling thanks to precision machining of both the plates and the attachment clamp, performed with numerical control machines. Thus welded connections are avoided, often a source of breakage due to fatigue over time.
Blade holding frame sliders
These are bronze sliding blocks with hydrodynamic support that run on their hardened steel guides in an oil bath. An extremely simple and effective system, with very low friction resistance, which does not require complex dynamic or hydraulic mechanisms and which needs very little maintenance.

Gaspari has always understood technology as a useful tool to make a huge number of machine features available to customers, making sure that everything is simple and immediate.
For this reason, the electrical / electronic system has been designed and built by adopting a FIELD BUS system, with consequent simplification of the wiring, guaranteeing a reduction in the possibility of failures and, possibly, a more rapid and punctual search for them.
Inside there are the best electrical and electronic components to guarantee extremely high reliability. The use of the latest generation solutions follows the guidelines dictated by the canons of “Industry 4.0” so as to make the machine already compatible with future technologies and translates into greater overall reliability and much faster and safer diagnostics.

Through a series of sensors and a dedicated software module, all the main machine functions are continuously controlled and monitored on the screen so as to make the processing safe and diagnose problems simple and immediate. - Statistics management
It is possible to collect and store a considerable amount of information regarding the materials being processed, the production carried out, energy consumption and set speeds, both for statistical purposes of controlling costs, and for being able to create a historical archive continuously updated by the system which records the optimal cutting parameters for each material. The archive facilitates the use of the machine allowing a standardization of the processes and maximizing the performance of the gang-saw.
